1st road trip for little boy (8th to 11th Dec 2012)

Our little boy’s adventure began on the 8th Dec which falls on a Saturday morning.

We started the drive down to Ipoh on at 630am (delayed a little cos Chen made a major poop! thank goodness! :D) and we reached at around 8am. Headed for breakfast with everyone (grandma, mum, sisters and bro) before we proceeded to Genting at around 9am. Reached Awana Hotel close to noon but could only check into our rooms at 3pm. 😦

Oh well, we proceeded to the peak and was greeted to a decent amount of mist and fog. Nice cool weather too.

My only complaint: Ciggie smoke !?!?! (really wtf?)

The weather was nice and cooling, the sight and all was refreshing and these people just HAD TO SMOKE..

Enough rant on the smokers’ crap..

Little boy was extremely chatty along the journey. Kept talking and laughing and waving his little arm at everyone in the car. Such a joy for anyone who are in the car with him. 🙂

Both my sisters were really entertained (and keeping him entertained as well) throughout the journey.  Below are some photos from the trip 🙂

He was waving at everyone, strangers included at the hotel. Chatting outloud in baby language when looked at. Smiling and posing for photos with everyone. No tantrum (except close to mealtimes). A darling indeed. 🙂 It was superbly cold in Genting but little boy didn’t seem affected at all. He was nicely bundled and was sleeping cozily in his stroller. 🙂

Proceeded to KL after a night in Genting. 1st stop was Midvalley Megamall and it was packed to the brim on Sunday afternoon.

We parked at The Gardens mall at 1st and didn’t feel the stress at 1st as the crowd was a mediocre one. The moment we went to Midvalley’s section, OMG. the.crowd.was.crazy!

The air was stale and stuffy, the food outlets were packed and aircond wasn’t cooling enough. I guess the mall aint’t able to cope with the crazy crowd.

Baby was cranky during our lunch, the stuffy air made him miserable and he wanted to nurse but because it was so warm, using a nursing cover made him crankier and fussier than ever.

Left after gobbling our meals to let him cool off. Tatt and I strolled around the mall while we wait for the rest to finish their meal. And little boy fell asleep in his stroller.

Poor baby. Was tired, hungry but couldn’t nurse comfortably and stuffy air worsened it. We left after just 2 hours there as Tatt needed to catch his bus back to Penang at 430pm.

Left for Klang after dropping him off and checked into Prescott Hotel (disappointing experience). The loo wasn’t able to flush well and the bath tubs weren’t well maintained. The water heater/kettle was so badly rusted we shudder at the thought of boiling water in it. 😦

Anyways, we met up with dad’s side of relatives in Klang for dinner (a rather heavy 7 course) and breakfast was bak kut teh (huge chunks of pork in a huge claypot of herbal soup). It was definitely a heavy feast for us last weekend, not to mention, and overload of meat intake too. Everyone had a great time catching up on the updates in each other’s lives. 🙂

Ended our trip with one last shopping trip at Sunway Pyramid. Thinking that it is a Monday, hence the crowd would be much lesser and would result in ‘better’ air quality.

We were SOOO wrong.

The crowd wasn’t crazy but the aircond system was a flop.

Little boy needed to nurse halfway through so we went to one in Parkson. To my frustration, I saw a Malay teenager and sister/gf taking photos of each other in the baby room. You.have.got.to.be.freaking.kidding.me.

I glared and they ignored me and resumed with their ‘activity’. Hence I entered one of the cubicle which was a flimsy, thin curtain as a cover. I could see that the duo was photographing from the outside. Super mega frustrated, I flipped the curtains open, gave them a good lashing (in their language) and that idiot just looked at me with a blank (and mega blur) look.

I continued to nurse Chen after seeing the duo moved aside, but was careful to keep track of the people entering the room. So much of fear and insecurity being inside there! URGH!

The only good thing I have to say about this mall? The baby room in the new wing on the 2nd floor! They have an exclusive room just for babies and nursing mothers. It is a proper room, with a solid door and a lock, cushion and an aircond outlet just above it. 🙂 *bliss*

Sigh. After a suffocating 4 hours (we stayed on to avoid the after-work jam), we finally left for home and reached at around 1030pm.  It felt good to be home. 🙂

We believe the only person who thoroughly enjoyed the entire trip was little Chen. We can tell from the way he admired the bright colorful lights and Christmas deco, his awed look and excited squeals and happy giggles.

I was superbly tired and physically drained. But seeing how happy my little boy is, makes it all worth while. 🙂 🙂 🙂

And his happiness is captured in all the shots throughout the trip. 🙂
